India Waives e-Tourist Visa Fees for Thai Travellers Until 2027

India has waived visa fees for Thai passport holders applying for a 30-day double-entry e-Tourist visa. The arrangement remains valid until December 31, 2027, or further notice. Travellers must apply online and secure approval before departure, meaning it is a fee exemption, not visa-free entry into India for Thai citizens.
The waiver lowers travel costs and could encourage more Thai visitors to explore India. With over 500 weekly flights connecting Thailand to more than 15 Indian cities, the initiative may strengthen tourism, cultural exchanges and people-to-people relations between the two countries.
Thai travellers must apply through India’s official e-Visa portal before departure. Applicants should verify passport requirements, eligible arrival points and visa approval before booking or travelling.

September 11, 2026: The Embassy of India in Bangkok announces the visa-fee waiver.

September 2026: Gratis 30-day double-entry e-Tourist visas become available to Thai nationals.

December 31, 2027: The arrangement is scheduled to end unless extended or changed.
