India Digitises Export Certificates Through Direct Software Integration

India’s Directorate General of Foreign Trade launched an open interface allowing exporters to request and verify Certificates of Origin directly through their accounting or enterprise software. Available on the Trade Connect platform, the facility covers preferential and non-preferential certificates, reducing duplicate data entry and streamlining an export-compliance process for businesses.
Faster certificate processing can reduce administrative work, improve accuracy and help exporters use preferential trade agreements more efficiently.
Exporters, trade bodies and issuing agencies can register their systems, complete technical integration and submit feedback through the DGFT helpdesk.

Certificates previously required separate portal entry

September 7: open interface becomes available

exporters begin software integration → adoption and feedback follow.
