Peru Earthquake Kills at Least Six

A magnitude-5.5 earthquake struck Peru’s central Andes near Sicaya, killing at least six people and injuring more than 30. Approximately 300 residents were displaced as buildings and roads sustained damage. Shallow depth and vulnerable adobe construction increased the impact across affected communities, including damage to a historic church and convent.
