India and China Add Military Hotlines in Major Border Confidence-Building Move
India and China have agreed to establish two additional military hotlines and two new senior-command meeting points along the Line of Actual Control. The agreement follows high-level border talks in Beijing, with both sides also committing to prevent misunderstandings and advance negotiations toward a mutually acceptable settlement of their long-running boundary dispute.
This is an important development for two nuclear-armed Asian powers whose relations deteriorated sharply after the 2020 border clashes.
