Thailand Launches “Half-Half Travel” Scheme to Boost Domestic Tourism — Bookings Open July 1
The Thai government is set to launch the much-anticipated “Half-Half Travel Thailand” program, opening bookings from July 1. Aimed at stimulating domestic tourism and supporting local businesses, the initiative is being implemented by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in coordination with Krungthai Bank.

What’s on Offer?
Starting July 4, eligible Thai citizens can take advantage of subsidized travel packages under the scheme. A total of 500,000 travel entitlements will be available nationwide.
Each Thai participant can receive up to five travel entitlements:
-
3 for primary tourism cities (e.g., Chiang Mai, Phuket, Bangkok)
-
2 for secondary tourism destinations
Each entitlement includes:
-
Up to ฿3,000 per night in lodging subsidy
-
50% subsidy on weekdays
-
40% subsidy on weekends and public holidays
-
-
฿500 digital coupon for spending at participating restaurants and shops
Vendor Participation and Verification
As of June 30, more than 34,000 tourism businesses have signed up via the official TAT portal. Of these, 6,400 have been approved and the rest are undergoing verification by Krungthai Bank to ensure eligibility.
Approved vendors are now listed on the TAT website.

With a strong response anticipated, this initiative is expected to:
-
Revitalize domestic tourism
-
Support small and medium-sized travel-related businesses
-
Inject spending into local economies across Thailand
Travelers must book with registered vendors only, and all subsidies and coupons must be used during the designated travel period.
