Thai Actor Chantavit Dhanasevi wins the ‘Star Hunter Award’
Thai Actor Chantavit ‘Ter’ Dhanasevi has won the ‘Star Hunter Award’ for his performance in ‘Hello Stranger’ or ‘Guan Muen Ho’ at the 14th Shanghai International Film Festival held in Shanghai, China.
There are only 10 promising performers in Asia receiving this award in the event. Seven of them are Chinese. Mr Chantawich from Thailand is among the remaining nationals given high votes by audiences across the region.
The Thai actor said he was very glad and excited after he was chosen to receive such an honorable award. He also expressed his thanks to all voters and supporters as well as pledged to keep improving his acting skills.
The judging panel for the Star Hunter Award was led by Italian actress Maria Cucinotta, Hong Kong director Mabel Cheung and Vietnamese actress Tran Nu Yen-Khe. The selection of 10 finalists was made from 1,000 applicants.
‘Hello Stranger’ from GTH studio by director Banjong Pisanthanakun is one of the most successful Thai films, receiving a gross revenue of 125 million baht after showing in the country as well as very good responses from foreign audiences, especially in China.
